Privacy Policy for ChordLeadR App
Information Collection and Use
Personal Information: ChordLeadR does not require you to create an account or provide your name, email address, or other direct contact information to use the app.
Usage Data: The app may collect certain non-personal usage data, such as device information (including device model, operating system version, unique device identifiers), usage statistics, and interactions with the app for the purpose of improving user experience and app functionality.
Community Voicing Contributions
When you choose to add or fork a voicing for a built-in chord, the app may submit the chord name, six fret positions, six finger assignments, and whether it was created or forked to our community voicing service. We use this information to validate, count, moderate, and, when a contribution meets our community threshold, publish a chord voicing for other users.
We do not attach your name or account to a community voicing. To prevent duplicate and abusive submissions, the app creates and stores an anonymous contribution token on your device. Our service stores a cryptographic hash of that token, not the token itself. It also receives your IP address through Cloudflare to process the request, then stores only a keyed cryptographic hash of the address for duplicate-abuse protection. We do not store the raw IP address in the community voicing database.
Published community voicings are not attributed to individual contributors. Aggregate contribution counts may be available to authorized administrators for moderation.
Use of Information
The non-personal information collected is utilized to:
- Enhance and optimize the app’s performance and user experience.
- Analyze trends and usage patterns to improve features and services.
- Maintain and improve the security of the app.
- Operate, protect, moderate, and improve the community voicing library.
Data Sharing and Disclosure
Third-Party Services: The ChordLeadR app may use third-party services (e.g., analytics services) that may collect information to assist in app improvement. These third-party services have their own privacy policies governing the use of information.
Legal Compliance: Information may be disclosed if required by law or to comply with a legal process.
Data Retention
We retain community voicing data and related hashed abuse-prevention records for as long as reasonably necessary to operate, secure, moderate, and improve the community voicing feature. We may remove or suppress community voicings that are invalid, duplicate, abusive, or otherwise unsuitable for the service.
Data Security
The security of your information is important to us. We employ reasonable measures to protect the information collected from unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, or destruction.
Children’s Privacy
The ChordLeadR app does not knowingly collect any personally identifiable information from children under the age of 13. If a parent or guardian becomes aware that their child has provided us with personal information without their consent, they should contact us, and we will take steps to remove such information.
Changes to This Privacy Policy
We reserve the right to update or modify this Privacy Policy at any time without prior notice. By continuing to use the ChordLeadR app after any revisions become effective, you agree to be bound by the revised policy. It is recommended to review this periodically for any changes.
