Privacy Policy for Field Monitor for Camera

This Privacy Policy explains how CodeInFaith handles information in connection with Field Monitor for Camera (“Field Monitor”), an app for iPhone, iPad, and Android phones and tablets that shows video from a camera through a UVC capture card or a USB camera, with monitoring tools such as focus peaking, false color, scopes, and LUT preview.

Information We Collect

Video and audio from your camera. Field Monitor reads the video, and audio when you turn on listening, from a connected UVC capture card or USB camera so it can show it on screen, draw monitoring tools over it, and play the sound. This happens on your device. CodeInFaith does not record, upload, store, or analyze this video or audio.

Information stored on your device:

  • Settings: Monitor mode, tool settings (for example peaking color, zebra level, guides, masks, de-squeeze, mirror and flip), video quality, startup and screen-awake options, and similar preferences.
  • Camera profiles: Profiles you save, with their tool settings.
  • LUT files: .cube files you choose to import. They are copied into the app’s storage on your device and are not uploaded.
  • Free time and Pro status: The daily free monitoring time you have used and whether Pro is active.
  • Capture card information: Details about the connected UVC capture card or USB camera, such as its supported video formats, needed to connect and show the picture.

Information processed by third-party services:

  • Analytics: Firebase Analytics records how the app is used, such as which screens and tools are opened, connection results, and purchase events, together with device and app information (for example device model, operating system, app version, language, and an app instance identifier).
  • Crash reports: Firebase Crashlytics collects crash and error reports, including device and app information, so we can fix problems.
  • Remote configuration: Firebase Remote Config downloads settings for the app, such as the length of the daily free monitoring time.
  • Purchases: Apple’s App Store or Google Play processes Pro purchases. When you buy or restore Pro, the app sends the purchase’s store identifiers (the product ID and the purchase token or transaction ID) to a CodeInFaith server, which checks them with Apple or Google to confirm the purchase is valid. We do not receive your payment card details.

Support communications. If you email us, we receive the information you choose to include, such as your email address, message, screenshots, or device details.

Permissions

  • Camera: Used to access the UVC capture card or USB camera you connect. Field Monitor does not use your device’s built-in cameras to take photos or record video.
  • Microphone (audio input): Used only to play the audio coming from your UVC capture card or USB camera when you choose to listen. The app does not record audio.
  • USB: Used on Android to access the connected UVC capture card or USB camera.
  • Files: When you import a LUT, you choose the file in the system file picker. The app can only read the file you select.

Information We Do Not Collect

We do not record or store the video or audio shown in the app. We do not collect precise location, contacts, photos from your library, health data, biometric data, or government identifiers. We do not sell your personal information, and Field Monitor does not show third-party ads.

How We Use Information

We use information to:

  • Show the live picture and sound, run the monitoring tools, and remember your settings and profiles.
  • Track daily free monitoring time and turn Pro features on after a purchase.
  • Confirm purchases with Apple or Google and help prevent fraud.
  • Understand which features are used, fix crashes, and improve compatibility with devices, capture cards and USB cameras.
  • Respond to support requests, comply with legal obligations, and protect the app and its users.

If the GDPR or similar laws apply, our legal bases include performance of a contract (providing the app and Pro features you purchase), our legitimate interests in keeping the app secure, reliable, and improving it, your consent where required, and compliance with legal obligations.

Data Sharing

We share information only with:

  • Apple and Google: To process and verify purchases, and as the providers of the app stores and operating systems.
  • Firebase (Google): For analytics, crash reporting, and remote configuration. See Firebase Privacy and Security and Google’s Privacy Policy.
  • Service providers: For hosting, email, and support, under obligations to protect the information.
  • Legal and safety purposes: When required by law or to protect rights, safety, and the integrity of the app.

International Data Transfers

CodeInFaith is based in the United States. Information processed by our service providers may be stored or processed in the United States or other countries where they operate.

Data Retention

  • Information on your device: Kept until you change it, delete it in the app, clear the app’s data, or uninstall the app. Some app data, such as free-time usage, may remain in your device’s secure storage or backups after you uninstall the app.
  • Purchase records: Kept by Apple or Google according to their policies. Our server keeps verification results only as long as needed to confirm purchases and prevent fraud.
  • Analytics and crash data: Kept by Firebase according to its retention settings.
  • Support emails: Kept as long as reasonably needed to help you and keep support records.

Your Choices and Rights

You can turn off camera or microphone access in your device settings, although the app needs camera access to show a picture. You can delete camera profiles and imported LUTs in the app, and clear all app data by uninstalling the app or clearing its storage.

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, or object to processing of your personal information, to receive a copy of it, and to withdraw consent. Because Field Monitor has no accounts, we may not be able to identify you from app data alone. To make a request, email [email protected].

We do not sell personal information and do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. California residents may request to know, delete, or correct personal information by contacting us at the address below.

Children

Field Monitor is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Security

We use reasonable safeguards to protect information connected to Field Monitor. Information stored on your device is also protected by your device’s security. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will change the date at the top of this page. If the changes are significant, we may also tell you in the app or on the app’s store listing.
