Privacy Policy for Photo Frame for Tablet

This Privacy Policy explains how CodeInFaith handles information in connection with Photo Frame for Tablet (“Photo Frame”), an app for iPhone, iPad, and Android phones and tablets that shows your photos as a digital photo frame and lets you send photos from one device to another over your local Wi-Fi network.

Summary

  • Product: Photo Frame for Tablet by CodeInFaith.
  • Purpose: Show photos you choose as a slideshow in a frame, and send photos between your own devices over Wi-Fi.
  • Photos: Stored only inside the app on your device. Photos you send go directly from one device to the other over your local network, encrypted, and are never uploaded to CodeInFaith or to any cloud service.
  • Data the app keeps: The photos you add, settings, theme choices, and Pro status, stored on your device.
  • Accounts: No account is required. We do not collect your name, email address, or payment card information through normal use of the app.
  • Third parties: Apple and Google process purchases. Firebase (Google) processes analytics, crash reports, and remote configuration.
  • Contact: [email protected].

Information We Collect

Your photos. When you add photos with the system photo picker, or receive them from another device running Photo Frame, the app copies them into its own storage on your device so it can show them. CodeInFaith does not receive, upload, store, or analyze your photos.

Wi-Fi photo transfer. When you open Receive Photos, the frame starts a temporary, private link on your local network and shows a QR code and a 4-digit code. The sending device finds the frame on your network, connects to it directly, and sends the photos you pick. Every transfer is encrypted with a new key each time. The link ends when you close Receive Photos. Photos do not pass through the internet or any CodeInFaith server.

Smart Framing. If you turn on Smart Framing (Pro), the app finds faces in your photos so the crop can keep them in view. This runs entirely on your device, using Apple Vision on iPhone and iPad and Google ML Kit on Android. Only the position of each face in the photo is stored, on your device. Faces are not identified or recognized, and nothing is uploaded.

Information stored on your device:

  • Photos: The photos you add or receive, and their order in your frame.
  • Settings: Slideshow speed and order, photo scaling, frame style, theme, animation, mat color, Night Mode hours, appearance, and similar preferences.
  • Pro status: Whether Pro is active.

Information processed by third-party services:

  • Analytics: Firebase Analytics records how the app is used, such as which screens are opened and purchase events, together with device and app information (for example device model, operating system, app version, language, and an app instance identifier). Analytics never includes your photos.
  • Crash reports: Firebase Crashlytics collects crash and error reports, including device and app information, so we can fix problems.
  • Remote configuration: Firebase Remote Config downloads settings for the app, such as links shown in Settings.
  • Purchases: Apple’s App Store or Google Play processes Pro purchases. When you buy or restore Pro, the app sends the purchase’s store identifiers (the product ID and the purchase token or transaction ID) to a CodeInFaith server, which checks them with Apple or Google to confirm the purchase is valid. We do not receive your payment card details.

Support communications. If you email us, we receive the information you choose to include, such as your email address, message, screenshots, or device details.

Permissions

  • Photos: The app opens the system photo picker so you can choose photos. Only the photos you pick are copied into the app.
  • Camera: Used to scan the QR code shown on a frame you send photos to. The photo picker can also use it to take pictures. The app does not record video.
  • Local network: Used to find your frame on your Wi-Fi and to send and receive photos directly between your devices.

Information We Do Not Collect

We do not collect your photos, precise location, contacts, health data, biometric data, or government identifiers. Smart Framing does not identify people or create face recognition data. We do not sell your personal information, and Photo Frame does not show third-party ads or use an advertising identifier.

How We Use Information

We use information to:

  • Show your photos, run the slideshow, send and receive photos between your devices, and remember your settings.
  • Turn Pro features on after a purchase.
  • Confirm purchases with Apple or Google and help prevent fraud.
  • Understand which features are used, fix crashes, and improve reliability on different devices and networks.
  • Respond to support requests, comply with legal obligations, and protect the app and its users.

If the GDPR or similar laws apply, our legal bases include performance of a contract (providing the app and Pro features you purchase), our legitimate interests in keeping the app secure, reliable, and improving it, your consent where required, and compliance with legal obligations.

Data Sharing

We share information only with:

  • Apple and Google: To process and verify purchases, and as the providers of the app stores and operating systems.
  • Firebase (Google): For analytics, crash reporting, and remote configuration. See Firebase Privacy and Security and Google’s Privacy Policy.
  • Service providers: For hosting, email, and support, under obligations to protect the information.
  • Legal and safety purposes: When required by law or to protect rights, safety, and the integrity of the app.

Photos you send with Photo Frame go only to the device you send them to.

International Data Transfers

CodeInFaith is based in the United States. Information processed by our service providers may be stored or processed in the United States or other countries where they operate.

Data Retention

  • Information on your device: Kept until you remove it in the app, clear the app’s data, or uninstall the app. Removing a photo from Photo Frame does not delete the original from your photo library.
  • Purchase records: Kept by Apple or Google according to their policies. Our server keeps verification results only as long as needed to confirm purchases and prevent fraud.
  • Analytics and crash data: Kept by Firebase according to its retention settings.
  • Support emails: Kept as long as reasonably needed to help you and keep support records.

Your Choices and Rights

You can turn off photo, camera, or local network access in your device settings, although some features will not work without them. You can remove photos in the app, and clear all app data by uninstalling the app or clearing its storage.

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, or object to processing of your personal information, to receive a copy of it, and to withdraw consent. Because Photo Frame has no accounts, we may not be able to identify you from app data alone. To make a request, email [email protected].

California Privacy Notice

We do not sell personal information and do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. California residents may request to know, delete, or correct personal information by contacting us at the address below.

Children

Photo Frame is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Security

Photo transfers are encrypted, and when you scan the frame’s QR code your phone also checks that it is sending to that exact frame. If you pair with the 4-digit code instead, use a Wi-Fi network you trust. Information stored on your device is also protected by your device’s security. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will change the date at the top of this page. If the changes are significant, we may also tell you in the app or on the app’s store listing.
