Information We Collect
HDMI Monitor is designed to be privacy-friendly.
HDMI video is processed locally on your device.
CodeInFaith does not upload, store, record, analyze, or transmit your HDMI signal.
We use Google Firebase Analytics and Crashlytics to understand app usage and improve stability.
The app may handle the following information:
- Local settings: Signal preset, aspect mode, rotation, flip settings, startup policy, UVC log level, and similar preferences.
- Local usage state: Free fullscreen usage time, day key, and local Pro purchase status used to enable or limit app features.
- Device and adapter information: USB UVC capture adapter details, supported signal modes, permission status, texture identifiers, and debug diagnostics needed to scan, start, show, and safely eject the HDMI signal.
- Permissions: Camera and USB permissions are used to access UVC-compatible HDMI capture cards and related Android USB device access.
- Support communications: If you email us, we receive the information you choose to include, such as your email address, message, screenshots, logs, or device details.
- Third-party app and device data: Firebase, Google Play, Android, and app store services may process device identifiers, diagnostics, crash data, purchase records, usage information, IP address, and similar data according to their own policies.
Information We Do Not Collect
We do not record or store HDMI video shown through the app.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use HDMI Monitor to collect biometric data, health data, financial account numbers, government identifiers, or precise location data.
Camera Permission
HDMI Monitor uses Android camera permissions to access UVC-compatible HDMI capture cards.
The app does not use your device’s built-in camera to take photos or videos.
How We Collect Information
- From your device: HDMI Monitor reads and stores local app settings and usage state on your device.
- Through permissions: The app requests camera and USB access to connect to a compatible UVC HDMI capture adapter, not to take photos or videos with your device’s built-in camera.
- From app stores and platform providers: Google Play and Android may provide purchase, installation, device, or diagnostic information needed to operate and support the app.
- From you directly: We collect information you send when you contact us for support or privacy requests.
How We Use Information
We use information to:
- Provide app features, including scanning for a UVC capture adapter, starting a signal, displaying the preview, saving settings, tracking local free usage, and enabling Pro features.
- Respond to support requests and troubleshoot issues you report.
- Understand app reliability, diagnose crashes or errors, improve compatibility, and prioritize product improvements.
- Process purchases, restore Pro status, prevent fraud, and comply with app store requirements.
- Comply with legal obligations, enforce our terms, and protect the security and integrity of the app.
Legal Basis for Processing
If GDPR or similar laws apply, our legal bases may include performance of a contract to provide the app, legitimate interests in app security and improvement, consent where required for optional analytics or permissions, and legal obligations where applicable.
Data Sharing and Third Parties
We may share information with the following categories of recipients:
- App store and payment providers: Google Play processes purchases, refunds, taxes, fraud prevention, and purchase records. CodeInFaith does not receive your full payment card number.
- Firebase and Google services: Firebase and related Google services may process app, device, diagnostic, and usage information depending on enabled services and platform behavior.
- Service providers: We may use providers for hosting, email, support, analytics, diagnostics, security, and business operations.
- Legal and safety purposes: We may disclose information if required by law, legal process, or to protect rights, safety, users, or the integrity of the app.
International Data Transfers
CodeInFaith is based in the United States. Information may be processed in the United States or other countries where our service providers operate.
Data Retention
- Local app settings and usage state: Stored on your device until you change settings, uninstall the app, clear app data, or reset the device.
- Pro purchase status: Stored locally and maintained by Google Play or the applicable app store according to that provider’s retention practices.
- Support messages: Kept as long as reasonably needed to respond to you, maintain support records, resolve disputes, improve the app, and comply with legal obligations.
- Firebase, Google Play, and platform data: Retained according to those providers’ policies and your settings with those providers.
Your Privacy Rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, object to, or receive a copy of personal information we hold about you. You may also have the right to withdraw consent, opt out of certain processing, or lodge a complaint with a privacy authority.
Because HDMI Monitor is designed without user accounts and most app settings are stored locally on your device, CodeInFaith may not be able to identify you unless you contact us or a third-party provider supplies relevant records. To make a request, email [email protected].
Cookies and Tracking
HDMI Monitor is a mobile app and does not use website cookies inside the app. Firebase, Google Play, Android, and other platform services may use identifiers or tracking technologies for app functionality, diagnostics, analytics, fraud prevention, purchase processing, and security.
Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect information connected to HDMI Monitor. Local app data is stored on your device and is also protected by your device security settings. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
California Privacy Notice
For California users, we do not sell personal information. We also do not knowingly share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising through HDMI Monitor. Depending on how third-party analytics or platform services are configured, California law may require additional disclosures about categories of personal information collected, purposes of use, retention, and rights to know, delete, correct, and opt out.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make changes, we will update the “Last updated” date above. If changes are material, we may provide additional notice through the app, website, or app store listing where appropriate.
