Terms of Service for HDMI Monitor App

These Terms of Service govern your use of HDMI Monitor, an app provided by CodeInFaith. By downloading, installing, purchasing, or using HDMI Monitor, you agree to these Terms.

About HDMI Monitor

HDMI Monitor is an Android app designed to help you use an Android tablet as a fullscreen HDMI monitor through a compatible USB UVC HDMI capture adapter. The app can scan for USB UVC capture devices, request camera and USB permissions, display a video signal from a compatible UVC capture adapter, provide preview settings, and offer a safe eject action before unplugging a capture adapter.

HDMI Monitor does not support direct USB-C to USB-C video input. A compatible UVC HDMI capture adapter and appropriate cables are required.

Acceptance of Terms

You accept these Terms when you access or use HDMI Monitor, install the app, or purchase a Pro feature. If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the app.

If you use HDMI Monitor on behalf of another person or organization, you represent that you have authority to accept these Terms on their behalf.

Hardware, Compatibility, and Permissions

HDMI Monitor depends on hardware and software outside our control, including your Android device, Android version, UVC capture adapter, HDMI source, cables, power, permissions, and supported signal modes. We do not guarantee that HDMI Monitor will work with every device, adapter, HDMI source, resolution, frame rate, or connection setup.

The app may request camera and USB permissions so it can access a UVC video signal from your capture adapter. You are responsible for granting only the permissions you are comfortable granting and for following your device manufacturer’s safety and usage instructions.

User Responsibilities

You agree to use HDMI Monitor only in a lawful and responsible manner. You must not:

  • Use the app to capture, display, record, or view content in a way that violates law, privacy rights, copyrights, or other rights.
  • Use the app in safety-critical, emergency, medical, aviation, navigation, or other high-risk situations where a failure could cause injury, damage, or loss.
  • Attempt to reverse engineer, modify, copy, resell, or redistribute the app except where allowed by law.
  • Interfere with the app, app stores, purchase systems, or related services.

Pro Features and In-App Purchases

HDMI Monitor may offer a Pro version or paid features through a non-consumable in-app purchase. Pro features may include unlimited daily viewing and advanced monitor controls, as described in the app or store listing at the time of purchase.

Features, pricing, and availability may change over time.

Purchases are handled by the applicable app store or platform provider. Your payment method, taxes, purchase confirmation, family sharing availability, restore behavior, and purchase records may be governed by that provider’s terms and policies.

Refunds and Store Policies

Refund requests, chargebacks, and billing disputes are generally handled by the app store or platform through which you made the purchase. We do not control app store refund decisions. If you need support related to HDMI Monitor, you may contact us using the information below.

Intellectual Property

HDMI Monitor, including its software, interface, design, text, graphics, branding, and related materials, is owned by CodeInFaith or its licensors and is protected by intellectual property laws. These Terms give you a limited, personal, non-transferable, revocable license to use the app for its intended purpose.

You retain your rights in content, signals, or materials you choose to display through your own HDMI source. You are responsible for ensuring you have the right to display or use that content.

Third-Party Services and App Stores

HDMI Monitor may rely on third-party software, platform services, app stores, payment processors, device operating systems, and hardware drivers. Those third parties may have their own terms, policies, and technical limitations. We are not responsible for third-party services or hardware that we do not control.

Disclaimers

HDMI Monitor is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, whether express, implied, or statutory, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, non-infringement, compatibility, uninterrupted operation, and error-free performance.

We do not guarantee that the app will always detect your capture adapter, maintain a video signal, preserve a fullscreen session, avoid latency, prevent interruption, or work with every HDMI source or UVC mode.

Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, CodeInFaith will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for loss of profits, data, goodwill, device availability, signal availability, or business interruption, arising from or related to your use of HDMI Monitor.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability for claims related to HDMI Monitor will not exceed the amount you paid for the app or Pro features in the twelve months before the claim, or one hundred U.S. dollars, whichever is greater.

Suspension or Termination

You may stop using HDMI Monitor at any time. We may suspend or terminate access to the app or related services if we reasonably believe you have violated these Terms, created risk, violated law, or interfered with the app or purchase systems.

Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we make changes, we will update the “Last updated” date above. Your continued use of HDMI Monitor after updated Terms are posted means you accept the updated Terms.

Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, United States, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. To the extent a dispute is not required to be handled by an app store, platform provider, or other mandatory process, you agree that disputes will be brought in courts located in California, unless applicable law requires otherwise.
